Alaska State Troopers are looking for an Anchorage man on the run in Sterling.
Troopers pulled a car over in Sterling on Wednesday when a driver made a moving violation, according to an online trooper dispatch. The passenger in the teal 2000 Ford F150, later identified as 39-year-old Casey Douglas, “fled into the woods,” troopers wrote in the dispatch.
“Douglas has an active felony warrant for his arrest stemming from unrelated charges,” troopers wrote.
While investigating further, troopers contacted a woman from Anchorage, 36-year-old Jennifer Blankenship, and found she had hindered Douglas’ arrest “by concealing his identity,” according to the dispatch. Blankenship was also found to be violating conditions of her own probation, so she was arrested for that violation as well as on charges on first-degree vehicle theft, hindering prosecution in the first degree and fifth-degree criminal mischief, according to the release.
She is being held without bail at Wildwood Pretrial Facility in Kenai, troopers wrote.
Anyone with information regarding Douglas’ whereabouts is encouraged to call the troopers at 262-4453 or Crime Stoppers at 283-8477.
