A york, Pennsylvania, woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly striking a man.
Julie Isabelle Bakke, 46, was charged with one count of second-degree assault and was released on her own personal recognizance Sunday, according to electronic court records.
A Carroll County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to a Westminster apartment for a report of an assault. He spoke with Bakke, who was in front of the building when he arrived, and she told him that she fought with a man. She said the man threw her to the ground and struck her face, according to the statement of probable cause.
Bakke said she and the man had been drinking, and she was unable to "accurately describe" the incident, according to the statement. The deputy noted that he did not see any injuries and Bakke seemed upset.
The deputy spoke to the man, and the man told the deputy that he and Bakke had an argument, according to the statement, she was upset and struck him on his face. He grabbed her and held her down on a couch to help calm her down, but she scratched his forearms multiple times, according to the statement.
They both called 911, and Bakke struck his nose, causing it to bleed, according to the statement, and she then left. The deputy noted several marks on the man's arm as well as a laceration on his nose.
The deputy determined that Bakke was the aggressor in the incident and arrested her, according to the statement.
Bakke did not return a call for comment as of 6 p.m. Tuesday. She is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 14.
