Manchester police arrest three for DWI over weekend

MANCHESTER — Three people were arrested for DWI over the weekend, including one driver who police said was hiding under the backseat when they found him.

At 1:45 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Sagamore Street and Maple Street.

Witnesses gave a description of a full-size pickup truck to police, who located the suspect vehicle parked on Belmont Street at Linden Street.

James Powers, 33, of 26 Leighton St., Manchester, was under the backseat, police said. He was arrested for DWI and conduct after an accident.

Fifteen minutes earlier, at 1:30 a.m., police saw a vehicle on Bridge Street swerving and crossing over the double-yellow line. Heather Shaw, 38, of 761 Belmont St. was arrested for DWI.

In the third incident, police saw a vehicle traveling north on Elm Street at Bridge Street that allegedly made an improper lane change against the red light to travel west on the Bridge Street Bridge.

Brianne Shore, 28, of 221 Laval St., Manchester, was arrested for DWI.
