The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office released the identities Friday of eight people arrested in an investigation into stolen vehicles, property and credit card fraud.
The eight were being held in the Effingham County jail, according to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gena Bilbo.
She said three more people were transported to the Chatham County Detention Center and were being held for Homeland Security investigators.
The arrests were made Thursday, when Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from other area law enforcement agencies served five warrants in the county as part of a five-month investigation into a crime ring.
